The SKA Science and Data Centre of Shanghai Astronomical Observatory recruited a SKA Post Doctorate

The SKA Science and Data Centre (SDC) of Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) has launched its global recruitment for SKA young professionals. The Indian Post Doctorate Prashanth Mohan was the first to join SDC from the recruitment in July, who will officially begin to work with SDC in September. Dr. Prashanth Mohan graduated from Visveswaraiah Technological University with a Bachelor of Engineering, and obtained his Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology. Dr. Mohan has worked as a post doctoral researcher and fellow in Indian Institute of Astrophysics and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, respectively. His research areas stem from modelling and simulation of black hole accretion disk and jet to light curves of active galactic nuclei and X-ray binary. Dr. Mohan has proposed to conduct observatory and research on radio transients in SHAO, a subject that is closely related to the “time domain astronomy” of the SKA key science objectives. He will also be involved in the development of China SKA and the enhancement of SKA international cooperation.
