In order to facilitate the implementation of SKA, to better understand SKA scientific data structure and to build up SKA data processing software, the seminar on the SKA multi-beam antenna test system was held on January 5, 2015 in Shanghai Astronomical Observatory. More than thirty experts and scholars from National Astronomical Observatory, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Guilin University of Electronic Technology and Shanghai Astronomy Observatory attended the seminar, including the Academician Shuhua Ye and the Academician Xiangping Wu.

On the meeting, the Academician Wu introduced the necessity of the construction of SKA simple test system and the overall plan and design. Professor Xiaogang Zang from Shanghai Jiaotong University made a report on high speed multi-channel data sampling and real-time signal processing. Following the reports, animated discussion about technical plan and implementation were carried out.

After a thorough discussion, a preliminary division of tasks was proposed, technique requirements such as digital signal transmission, synchronization and beamforming technology were determined, phased plan were developed. Further, it was planned that the feasibility test could start during March - April of 2015.
